      Beautiful boat. Can you tell me about her? Length, beam, draft, etc? Keel? Power? Is she for sale, or do you know of one for sale? Hisminister7@aol.com

      @05bill

      Hi Bill. Who makes her? And where? I like her looks!!!

      I'd love to learn about her if you'd be open to sharing all about her.

      Hi Chaplain, I would be more than happy to share information on her. She was made by R P Boats in Steuben, Maine and
      designed by Willis Beal. The hull is the same hull used by Wilbur Yachts in the construction of their 31 footer. Unfortunately the molds have been destroyed in a fire at the manufacturer several years ago and they went out of business. She has a very large beam for a 31 footer, she was designed to carry a lot of lobster pots, she is what they call a skeg boat as apposed to a built down boat; one is supposed to get more speed from her. With the 370 hp, I cruise at about 15 knots and top out at about 18 to 20 knots. not the fastest ,but she can handle more sea than I wish to be in.

      Creature comforts; inverter charger that runs a refrigerator, and 4 ac outlets, no air , no generator-I use a small portable generator sparingly to run the microwave and the coffee pot-she has many electronic monitoring devices to monitor engine performance, a priority for me when running a single engine. She has a swim platform with ladder, and a windless, a sizable v birth with dressing area and hanging closet, a separate head with a reliable Groco K manual toilet, a hand held shower and a hot and cold pressurized water system . She is trimmed out in mahogany.

      That is about it Chappy, I have been looking for a comparable boat, for what reason I am not sure !

      I have been looking at used, new builds , etc., and a new build is , for a 38, $600 on up, I would suspect that the 31 to 35 would be in the $250 on up range ? What is used seems not as good as what I have , unreasonably priced and frankly there are a limited supply of good boats available.

      I will e mail you and we can discuss further if you would like ?

      Regards,

      Bill

      @05bill Hi Bill! Thanks for the great info! I think something like the 29' H&H Osmond Beal would work for me, if it had a smaller cockpit than many ... and a longer cabin. I'm going to use it for pleasure use, and need a head with shower booth, air conditioning, port and starboard steering station doors, generator, and I prefer hard covered cockpit. I realize I may have to do some mods, but prefer something that has most of these options already. I'd even consider something ready to be repowered, if the price was right, but the hull and rest of the boat needs to be nice! Any help in finding her would be greatly appreciated!

      Morning Chaplain, let me know what you find. What is your price range ?

      Regards,

      Bill

      Hi Bill. That's a beautiful boat. I have a Duffy 31 out in the Pacific Northwest. It's got a 370hp Yanmar as well. In an earlier post you mentioned having "many electronic monitoring devices to monitor engine performance" — can you elaborate on that? Thanks.

      Morning, maybe they are not as electronic as I had indicated, they are heat related and thus thermal, Borel raw water alarm, pyrometer and you might want to consider a boost gauge, but I do not have one.

      That is it.
