Default Sharking 2012

Made our 1st shark trip on June 3rd. Eight Blue sharks & at 1130 this lovely 183 pound female mako appeared. Nice way to start the L.I. season.

Nice fish!

With the water being pumped through the gills, did you catch and release?

Is that a tag or a gaff hole in front of the dorsal fin on the right side?

That is the gaff hole. We fished the same spot today. The water went from 63 to 61 today. Only blue sharks and twice as many as the 1 st trip. I cannot image the temp difference making the difference. There we plenty of boats sharking today for a Wednesday & they all left late like me, which most likely means no mako bites
