how do you adjust stop to stop freature on a hydraulic steering system? one direction the steering stops, other direction steering wants to continue putting pressure on rudder post, dangerous !!!
thanks,

It sounds to me that the ram isnt mounted correctly. There is no adjustment on the stop to stop that I am aware of.I have seen class 1 crowe steerers that will bend a rudder if they arent in stalled correctly. Is this manual or power hyd steering?

thank you for the response. when the boat was manufactured they did not put the bolt in locking the ram to the rudder shat, over the last 7 seasons the ram screwed itself back into its shaft hampering steering. this just occurred this year when I launched her . I was a lucky sailor. It is fixed, very miner adjustment when you know what your doing.
Thanks
One more thing what is the very best washing material to get that pesky diesel smoke off the transom ? I would like to "soap" off each time i run the boat.
Thanks again.
