I have about 35-40 gals of gas that I need to pump out and dispose of..any suggestions.. was thinking of using one of those $6 drill pumps they sell at lowes to avoid any sparking and obviously to do it cheap without buying a jabsco etc.. any non shady or semi shady ideas to get rid of the gas? I got a 25 gallon caddy that I can pump it into but after that? I dont want to have to wait until the 4th of july beach fires to get rid of it

I had to do the exact same thing this past spring, and about the same amount. I used a west marine oil extractor WEST MARINE Manual Oil Changer at West Marine (http://www.westmarine.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay?catalogId=10001&storeId=11151&productId=330596&langId=-1) (although it's not too cheap) they say you cant use it for fuels, but I have done it several times without any trouble.

To get rid of it I posted an add on the free section of craigs list. I got about a million calls for it. needless to say I got someone to come and pick it up that very same day.

the vacuum type pumps are th best for gas because the gas never comes in contact with the pump. getting rid of the gas is the hard part, if its the gas from your boat that flipped, why not let it settle and pull of the good gas on top and use it any where you can.

I used an electric fuel pump. Put an ad on craigslist, gone within 2 hours.
ALWAYS SAFTY FIRST.
