It's not a Spencer Lincoln design...
If anything, it's Jim Beam's design

Yes, there was some talk in the 'early days' about that composite design, and as you informed me in our last conversation, it was a 'cut-down' 31'. Am I correct? Jim Beam produced the first 28', but didn't Spencer take credit for it original drafting?

David McGraw worked with Royal Lowell to create the 31 I do believe
After that, the 28 came about with a pair of scissors to prove Spencer wrong who was also sitting at the table

Ah yes, the intrigue continues. It's a shame the 'real' designer has never gotten credit, don't you think?

I've seen it the BHM 31' attributed to Spencer in multiple places. That would be news to a few.
