no swim platform, no bow rail, no generator ,no air.
I think before you challenge this price take this add to a boat builder and get a quote on a new build at that level of finish, woodwork, and customization.
Some people don't want things like bow rails and swim platforms.
Not challenging price , hope the guy gets it , its good for all of us. Simply pointing out features.
I have a 1998 Northern Bay 36' (balsa cored) with a 63P Volvo 370 HP. I have approximately 1,200 (trouble free) hours on the boat.
I cruise at approx. 17 knots burning approx. 13 GPH according to the floscan. I top out at around 20 knots. I have no regrets about my engine or the boat.
The boat you are considering has the cruiser deck mold with the 3 windshield windows, typically those builds have a smaller cockpit as the main bulkhead is positioned further aft as opposed to the lobster boat top that I have with 4 windshield windows with the main bulkhead positioned a few feet forward. The cockpit on my setup is approx. 12'
That boat will likely cruise a bit faster as I have a tower, tower mounted outriggers, a bit more windage.
The wood work on the boat you are considering appears to be of the highest level of craftsmanship, just the interior trim around the windows would have been considerable hours.
Let me know if I can provide any additional info.
I have never owned a diesel boat so I have a lot learn!
Thank you! I may have more questions as the learning Curve continues!
I have a redone 1999 36 (cored)with a 480 Volvo . I Cruz 17.5/18 knts and burn 16/17 gal and will top out 20knts
The boat has a bridge and is set up for offshore /inshore fishing and cruising
In my opinion you can’t go wrong with a NB it will handle any thing you can give it

I will be in Touch! Thanks!
I like your boat, nice looking rig!
Did shocker sell? He's a member here. I'm on my 3rd northern bay. There addicting be careful.
I just saw an add for shocker somewhere still for sale. The NB's are very sweet rides. I can see how they are addicting lol
Latest add I have seen.
1998 Northern Bay® 36 Sportfish: $109,000
Any plans on feeding that nasty addiction again ?
Time will tell
its one of the best riding and fastest riding hulls. They don't roll at all and they handle very well in a following sea. you need a set of lifting rails on the 36 nb for sure. Very dry riding hull.
Thank you, that tells me a lot! The rails, are they typically wood that's glassed in, or does someone make a fiber glass part for that?
The phone rings all day with "serious" buyers, also "serious" buyers with "serious" cash have shown up never to be heard from again... she is still in the water waiting for a new home.
