This boat was built as a race boat back in the 80's by the brothers. Young Bros. used it to sell more boats by winning races.
I knew the original owner who used it to lobster in Long Island sound and back in the day it was fast.

“Fast” in the 80’s. 450 hp in a 38YB in this day and age is average, maybe less than average. Dad had 490 hp in his 38YB and we got hour asses handed to us in our class.
That said it would make for a great package.

Also a good home for a 13L Scania!

I don't believe that is the original engine that was in the boat and recall a lot more HP than 450.

That maybe. The fastes 38YB I know of is called Apparition II. Owned by Billy Hallinan out of Boothbay Harbor. He has a 8V92TA in it. Back when he raced it it was a 40+ MPH boat. It was also a full time lobsterboat.

Not ringing a bell. But in the early 80’s I was just a toddler, knee high to a lobster. (Born 79). Travis knows a lot of the racing history. He may remember it.

I would start off by getting a molded top from SW boatworks. That would be between 19,500 and 22,500. Then all the rest of the “stuff” you would still be 100K or over by the end of it.

They do...My father had one. They are available on SW’s website. That is where I got the pricing.
