Any forum member with a GM22 live on Long Island or in CT that’s willing to let me have a look and or go for a ride? I’m willing to charter the boat for a day if that’s what it takes...please let me know. I’m not in a rush I know it’s still cold...

Good choice, well worth the trouble of looking for a ride. :)

I’m in the market, there are a ton of options out there and I keep coming back to the GM22... that being said it’s a big decision for me and I want to make sure I do as much research as I can. Thanks for the support.

What a great photo! Looks like a beast! I would love to take a trip up to the shop but time away is tuff right now between work and family. Probably will end up going there at some point. You have one hell of a boat there by the way.

Agreed - great choice. Its hard to come by a tougher boat in its size category, they're just built like tanks.

If you don't find anyone down there, I'd recommend making the trip up to the shop. There is a bunch of them up there right now, from complete boats, to others in various stages of construction. I'm sure they can get you out on.

I also know they just re-tooled the cabin mold and made a new canopy mold for it, as they're about to start building two of the cabin model 22's this summer.

I sea trialed my new GM22 yesterday, while they sea trialed another one that is a basic commercial finish workboat CC. Heres a pic I grabbed when it went by.

I'm on the north fork, have an off brand 20 that will be stretched 2.5'. Same general marine hull. Unsure of completion date, hoping early summer if that helps you

General Marine contracted Calvin Beal to design the GM22. He sent them a wooden plug built to GM’s specs, and then GM built the mold off that.

Lots of people like to think the GM22 is a stretched MC20 or something like that - I like to disprove the myths.

Here’s a pic of the wooden plug for the GM22 sitting on the GM shop floor.

Not exactly sure what your objectives are with your project but keep in mind that stretching the flattest 2' of that hull by a 125% and strapping an outboard on the back is going to make it ride worse, not better.

And as SeaKarma pointed out above, its not the same hull as our 22.

To answer Pinksy's question, the other 22 that was sea trialed yesterday is going to a customer in Montauk so it will be in your neighborhood soon.

Guys, I saw a DE CC on a trailer in the Hamptons yesterday, possibly headed to Mtk; looked alot like the 22 they sea trialed. Dave, did you guys by any chance deliver a boat out my way?

Congratulations, beautiful boat. I've got her older sister, 25 GM over at the MMB. Hope to see you on the water this year.

Seakarma- did your mold of the center pilothouse make it into production for future builds of GM 22's? For the amount of time and effort you put in I would hope so. IMHO it is the BEST looking option for those wanting a walk around style.
