... As I was perusing through the Miami boat show website I see nothing but endless reams of triple outboard center consoles and that pasty faced white chick selling insurance. Neither of which I care to see. So I was hoping to invent any semblance of a keel boat to concoct an excuse to escape the cold....uhmnn, maybe in the brokered boat arena ? Any suggestions ?

Rock: Forgeddaboutit. DE's are just too slow for the fast track people attracted to the Miami boat show. Even the lobster boat race people would not have a chance; not unless they can do 60kts. Take the GPS away from the Miami crowd and then...; well, it would be funny in a sort of funny way. Have I been to the MBS, yes? I bought a filet knife and have not been back for 14 years. Mike

I love the idea of having a downeast in West Palm Beach, FL!! I can't believe how big the center consoles are getting down here. What's next, another 40 ft cc with 5-300's?? Guarantee its right around the corner!! I feel a DE down here will fish more days a year, in any kind of weather we see, and more comfortably and be more affordable then any huge center console. Just my .02.

Here you go, 57 feet of what they call a center console.
    Just launched yesterday.

Those wide washrails will come in handy for the bathing beauties to sun themselves on.:D

40 Knts on the first sea trial. 12 onboard and full fuel and water. Designed to go to the farthest oil rigs in the gulf and stay there til they load the fish box. Single Mann Diesel. It has a refrigerated under deck forward Fish Box with its Ice maker big enough for about 20 large Alison Yellowfin. Yes it has Carbon Fiber Blyriggers 24 ft 6 inches long and Yes it has a Green stick. Hard chine to make it nice to fish around the off shore oil rigs. Yes It will be at the Miami Boat show to show off its Full Garmin Electronics Package. Then its on its way around Fl to its new home in Texas.

Anything wrong with having a boat that is friendly to bathing beauties? Even if it was designed as a Full walk around fishing boat. No Keel. They do not work on 40 Knot boats. No round hull or soft chines either.

I wonder if Wesmac could build me a 55 CC? I'd save a hell of alot of money on finishing costs and it would probably be the fastest boat they ever built. May need a step box to see over the bow though

The Miami/Ft Lauderdale crowd run from the FL coast out to the Bahama's and back regularly. The trick is to "beat the next boat".

Even 20-22 knots won't even come close to cutting it.

The wide cap rails (wash rails) are what holds the upper hull together! It would make a great head boat. No keel; lots of stuff floating out there. Very nice, but, MBS stuff. Maybe we are the snobs! I fish an Ellis 28'.

Blitzen.... anyone know where in Texas that beast will live? I would like to see it.

    BillD ..... My neighbor has a 40' CC with 4 300hp Yama's - > 60kt boat

and he wants a bigger one!

My NB is considered a 'trawler' here by the CC guys, BUT, I am more comfortable and stay longer! Isn't that the point?

I built a WESMAC a few years ago. It cruised at 18kts with a Yanmar 440 burning 9GPH. It is somewhere in CT...mike

Hardcore: The market got me so I only built the prototype. I profited exactly "0". The guy got the boat at cost. I wish I could have afforded to keep it. I will try to post a photo if I can figure it out.

The Boat Looks great. I see my outriggers up there.

I followed your build all the way on here. Beautiful boat. Nothing bad or hate to say about it like the crowd around here knocking the 57 going to Texas. He fishes for multiple days 100 to a hundred 150 miles into the Gulf. Cruising at 35 knots to get there.

I can go longer on your outriggers if you want. Let me know.

I try not to post on here. Its like trying to educate rocks. The Green sticks are doing great. I made some 46 ft permanent sticks. That was up there. Yes the only american made sticks out there. The retractable sticks are catching like crazy and are the only option for fast center consoles. I am starting to sell outriggers to down east boat owners after they give up on their heavy heavy LD aluminum ones. Sending out another set to a DE boat owner monday w LD holders. Jay
This is the web site for where the 57 is going . John Walker in Galveston Texas.
