The Fortier 26 is one the toughest ocean boats in its class size. Called a New England Bass Boat she was designed for Atlantic Striper Fishing and has controls at front and stern for one man handling when fighting fish. Gaffer spent all but the past 4 years with the original owner on fresh water in Michigan. He repowered her up 10 years ago with a Yanmar 230 turbo which achieves a max of 25 knots with a very efficient cruise of 18-20 knots. A 145 mile all day trolling trip to the Big Rock will burn only 55-60 gallons. ..or around $120.00 of diesel. She has 1170 motor hours. The Fortier is a planing hull (as opposed to semi-displacement of most of her peers) so she is very efficient and shallow-drafting for a fully protected keel boat. The Fortier 26 was first conceived in the 1970's, designed by Eldridge -McInnis and a brand new one has the exact same hull design...the design has gone unchanged. The 10-foot beam and sharp entry make this boat exceptionally stable and she is smooth and dry in heavy conditions. The beam also makes for a very stable bottom fishing platform and the design affords a ton of deck space to land the biggest fish. A google search of Fortier will reveal the quality and remarkable nature of this boat which is a lifetime vessel. Gaffer has been carefully maintained and is ready for day cruising or the gulf stream. In addition to standard Fortier 26 features, Gaffer is a 1982 model equipped with the following:

Full hard top with stainless steel railing.(not aluminum).
Custom made Arrigoni Teak backed helm seat, passenger seat and storage cabinet with 4 drawers.
    New headliner.
Secondary controls and tiller in the rear for fighting fish.
    Dripless shaft seal
    Rocket launchers
    Teak rod holders
    Taco Outriggers
Revere 6 man life raft with inflatable floor, roof, and double ring (case enclosed with bracket) 3 years old.
    Strato-glass curtains.
    Rear curtain enclosure
Simrad NSS12 -12 inch touchscreen display
1000 KW, Through Hull, transducer for ultimate marking of deep water fishing spots
VHF Radio with heavy duty antennae
    New cockpit paint
New Bottom paint June 2017-Good for 2-3 years
Nibral 4 blade bronze prop just conditioned and re-pitched this past june.
    New Yanmar Turbo
Custom insulated fish Box for a limit of Mahi.

Yes... Yanmar 230 4HLA -STE ... 1170 Hours. 2nd Owner. The original owner is now close friend and still calls periodically to check on her. He has a 32 Fortier but this 26 was his first love...;)

Will also consider a trade or partial for a 24-26 center console /dual console with Yamaha 4 stroke that I can use on the boat lift I had put in and to run around as an all purpose utility /fish boat.

    Yes sir.
My wife and I drove 900 miles to see her/run her at Gross Point Farms Mich. on the Lake. She was the oldest Fort I had considered but had the best repower and original owner..(who came with the deal..:) He is still a very close pal.

Oh man, this is my single most favorite Fortier 26 I have ever come across. I pulled every string I could when you had this listed previously on THT to become the new owner of her. Today I wake and come on DEBF having empty my savings to get married today, only to see this listed again:(. I wouldn't want my life without the woman I am marrying but it would be just about perfect waking up on the Gaffer the morning after our celebration.
I hope she goes to someone who will love her the way she has been so far.
