yes all i'm asking is for the number of meshes across the bottom up one side and meshes deep. I can figure out where to make the cut for the opening.

    31 x 6 that's 14 across the bottom, 6 up the sides, 6 meshes long

Are you knitting them, or cutting them from shrimp mesh ?

Those are knit heads with a smaller mesh, but most lobstermen I know use shrimp mesh. Mesh size makes a big difference so it usually takes some experimenting.

I'm going to cut them out of shrimp mesh.

It also depends on the trap height and width.

all i want to do is try to stick a couple of hake mouth heads in one of these traps i build. I thought if i got a simple mesh count i could save wasting some web figuring out myself.
