Looking for a running take out diesel engine. Mechanical, prefer marine but will not object to an old truck or tractor engine.
Prefer Cummins, John Deere, Ford Lehman, but will look at anything. Looking for something between cheap and free. A tinker project.

    Jerry,

I have a 200HP Perkins in the advertisement section site. I am asking $5k with gear etc. Make me a reasonable offer and it is yours.

yup, like I said something I can rebuild in my shop at the house. Tinker with. I was hoping to get my Dad's 6BT but his season wasn't what he wanted to repower.
I love where I work and will never leave, but I wouldn't mind doing rebuilds on the side. Would like rebuild one for myself to use as a rolling commercial. Put it on a trailer and show it off.

I ran a couple Lehman for years. Great engine. Started in the cold without hesitation with over five digits on the hour meter. Only downfall I know of is the hang on parts are pricey and hard to find. Matching the different models of Dorset, and the other three or so can be hard with the exhaust and intake manifolds along with mixers.

I got a good bead on Ford Lehman parts. Not my top choice but they have a following.
