Hey Ferdi...Seriously, take a look at the Fortier 26. (...and Not just because I'm selling mine. ) I wouldn't be if I didn't have to. I owned a brand new Grady 300 Marlin (30 plus footer) and the 26 Fortier has 20 percent more fishing space. It is a 10 foot beam and the layout with rear controls allows me to fish with less people and control the boat from the rear while controlling direction and speed myself before gaffing. The length to width ratio gives her amazing control and stability in heavy seas...exquisitely stable platform. The other huge difference is that she is a planing hull, not a semi displacement. She gets amazing fuel burn. I'm getting around 2.5 miles per gallon. For us to go to the stream troll all day and home is about 130 miles and burns around 50 gallons. Its killer for bottom fishing too and I have done so in 5 foot seas. Fortier has not changed their design since they started this hull and you wont find one negative thing written about them anywhere. Believe me less can be more...you live in the Fortier hood...at least go look at one before you are sure you need a bigger boat. They have a porcelain head, sink fridge and sink for cruising for mama too. Seriously they are a ton of boat and anyone who has owned one never regretted it. Whenever I needed a question answered about the boat and called the company, Rod Fortier gets on the phone with me and answers all my dumb questions...can't beat that kind of service. :)
