    Hello,

I bought my first downeast boat used back in May, I have been on this forum for a while now, figured it's time to introduce my self. I picked up a 2007 28 Northern Bay with a 370 yanmar. I have been enjoying every minute of the boat this summer.

Nice boat. My dad looked at this boat a couple years back, ended up going with another 28 NB built by steven. Previous owner was the man, spent a good amount of the day showing us shinnecock area and a 26 Pemaquid for sale in the area that he had worked on.

Yes I bought the boat from the next owner, I believe the guy owned the boat for alittle over a year and he didn't know anything about the boat. But I was able to get a hold of what I believe was the second owner (the guy you spoke with I believe) to get some history of the boat. But yes he was the man, if it wasn't for him I probably would have passed on the boat for a lack of history.

Thank you, Yes I was tied up at gilgo in a few of those photos, I live/dock in Lindenhurst. I'm usually either at gilgo or hemlock every nice Sunday during the summer. If you see the boat, come say hi.

The original owner wouldn't have been Billy Joel would it? He owned a DE boat and named it after his daughter Alexa :) and I believe he is a New Yorker!

To the best of my knowledge he still owns that boat(picture below) and the previous owner of this boat is just a fan. hqdefault.jpg

    Great looking boat
I pulled along side you fluke fishing by the Moses bridge in the beginning of the season, I was in my 26 CC. How far forward do the lifting rails run. I am in bayshore would like to take a look at them if that's ok with you. I have a 25 NB and want to put spray and lifting rails on over the winter.

I'm glad you got in to a downeast boat. Pm me when you want to come down and take a look at it. The boat will be in my backyard in lindenhurst for another month or so before the winter.
