Well here are some pics of this weekends work.. we are so close to launching her. found out Friday I am having emergency surgery on Monday to release a nerve that is pinched in my neck. Cervical Fusion from C4-T1... so she's going to sit for two months until I get clearance to step aboard her again. Happy Easter from the Longbottom Family!!

    looks good!

So, your boat yard puts tarps under every boat it blocks? I've never seen this. That seems like a lot of work, wow.

They do and it is soft fabric that catches on any shoes you have on.. sucks to walk on but it catches most of the bigger stuff.. I usually ball it up to kneel on.

Boat looks beautiful! Sorry to hear about your pinched nerv. Hope it is not a result of all the polishing that the boat obviously received. As a doctor you should know that all “emergency”surgery should be “scheduled” for the dead of winter and not during boating season :)

Hehe.. wish I was a doc and made of money, I would have had someone else grind 15 years of bottom paint off, put 5 coats of interlux 2000e and 3 coats of Pacifica plus on her. Thanks again for the kind words!

Well after 21 days, my neurologist left me with a new tattoo.. and I was at the boat Saturday watching my partner work on her.. she's close to getting wet. We'll be keeping her at Kentmorr Marina this year. Folks there have always been good to me, and fair pricing. Had a couple fellows come over and ask me what haul it was and in my proudest voice explained her history and what we got done. Here are some pics of my new tattoo and Longbottom as well.

We live kentmoor...best crab place on the Bay, and the shallow (sometimes) entrance keeps the big boys out!

Yeah it does get a little shallow just outside the entrance, but there was a natural channel outside (we marked it in my smaller boat before we got the slip) and it seems to still be there. Best part is, the crabbers didn’t drop any pots in the channel, so it made jockeying in much easier. Love the 53’ Carolina that came in late last year. She just left a couple of weeks ago. Beautiful wooden boat.. and the owner was right out there with us working on her.. the way it should be.

At least you didn't lose your sense of humor! Glad you're doing better. By the way, don't leave out the boat re-naming ritual/ceremony or the Gods will not be happy with you and bad JuJu will ensue. If you are not familiar with it, I believe Google can find a copy for you to print. Aside from keeping further bad luck away, it's just a good excuse to drink. ;) After that pinched nerve, perhaps it might be a wise move! :D

Wow thanks I reread the ritual and you’re absolutely correct. Gotta good plan now for the renaming.. certainly do NOT want to anger Poseidon or Neptune!! Thanks for setting me straight. Poured east to West first minus a cup for the masters, then west to east after the metal tag dropped off the bow.. got it. Anyone close can join, I’ll post the date of the ceremony.. then then drinking begins!! Got it
