properly sized motor mounts and having them balanced for load would be my guess.

Looks like a structural nightmare to me.

The more wiggle the more negotiating room. Sad to say it doesn't look good. From here engines sound okay so unless they were missfiring due to a bad injector or cylinder down or alignment , bent shaft prop they shouldnt shake like that. Long term I'd suspect structural issues with the stringers from loose engine beds or mounts, and possible engine transmission issues and leaks from vibrations etc.. It looks like barry mounts in the front. They are one of the best out there. But nothing lasts forever maybe a poor intsallation where something wasnt torqued down or maybe something broke. Needs a good surveyer to check for tabbing and delamination issues at the stringer base and the bulkheads, also inspect all the running gear. It did appear that the outboard battery box was moving too.

Was that video taken in gear or out? Makes a big difference in possible causes. Even better post it both ways.

    Looks that way.

Apparently the video was taken during seatrial running at cruise if you read the original post on THT.

What is up with those engine beds? Looks like nothing I would mount an engine to. Agree the motors sound good and it’s hard to tell if it’s underway. My guess would be it is. Any ripple in the water would cause the shaking. Disaster waiting to happen.

Its actually in a 36 Hatteras, not a flexi flyer.

We had a flexi flyer for years, never saw it flex.

I had a 36 Hatteras and the series one and two hulls are very overbuilt. Its not the stringer system moving around there. No way they fail as they are really beefy and mostly solid glass. I had a set of cat 3126 420 and they didnt shake like that ever. I believe the mounts are moving but why is the question. I would inspect the shafts, props and cutlass and intermediate bearings and of course those mounts. Cant keep anything close to aligned with that much movement and it must make the whole boat quiver.

There appears to be an aluminum angle that is mounted on top of the stringer with risers welded to it. I suspect it's the interface between the stringer and the angle that poses the problem. A poor mounting method enables "twisting" of the angle, which is magnified by the height of the risers. The higher you go, the greater the movement becomes noticeable. It might actually be an easy fix if the stringers are solid..............but we all know how that goes.

Looks to be a little rough out, I’m even seeing the batteries shaking at one point. Can’t be good for exhaust connections or the shaft loading for alignment. Glad it’s not a issue I’ve been tasked to diagnose and mitigate
