    I think it was a bad shot for the whale. Is the whale tangled in the line off the port stern ?

    I'm not quite sure what happened to the whale but if you look closely the boat is tied off to the whale and there is a shark diving cage off the starboard quarter. Looks like this boat found a gold mine for their diving customers.

    At first i thought it was a cow with a baby, but after the last post i see theyre tied off to the dead whale and thats a white shark next to the boat, wild.

    thats me a few years back when the whites first started showing off chatham..great day for all involved (except the humpty).. it had been dead a while and was drifting, i made some calls, we had some bios from WHOI, along with dr greg skomal, couple nat geo cameramen etc.. pretty exciting, she swam around the boat for 6 hours.. 17' and estimated 3200lbs..
    we got one of the 1st sat tags (in the northeast) in her while she glided by.
    named her "curly" for the curved tip on her dorsal. tracked down the coast to georgia, took a left and the tag popped off in the sargasso sea..
    she and the rest of the crew can be seen on nat geo (shark week) "jaws comes home"
