Wow! Looks great!
The end of an amazing day in early June.
Finally felt like summer today.
Oh wow, I love those Huckins.
Sometimes you gotta make your own t shirt
To starboard side is my Nauset 28 with Cummins, in background is my Grady White 20 c/c with 175 Yamaha.
This is at Bay Pointe Marina in Quincy, MA.
Dang i didn't know anyone would even know what a Huckins was.
That’s a whole other obsession for a whole other forum...
I live in the land of Huckins... My ex father in law was their doctor for years. Kidney pounding fast twin screw boats. Beautiful in my eye because I appreciate all kinds of hulls and boats. Very far from a DE though...My New England workboats roots cloud judgement sometimes
We have about a dozen Huckins in the harbor. I’ll try and post them on another thread, beautiful boats.
These are from tonight’s cruise.
Genius, this is the sistership to Vim. Caribou new hailing port of Martha's Vineyard formerly was Marina Bay in Quincy MA
How cool is that !!!!!!
That’s a damn nice looking boat!
Very cool. Is that how a "stability" or "steading" sail is rigged or are they doing something else with it. Or...is it a snailboat in the background?
That’s a steadying Sail yes and the rowboat on transom (not shown) also has a sailing rig but she’s a pleasure to row...the steadying sail is for the beam sea.
I think that was Giffy Fulls boat 40+ years ago.
Anyone know who built this beautiful boat ???
Any stats engine etc....???
Newbert & Wallace
John Deere diesel I believe rated at 165 hp
7 knot cruise and like 2 1/2 gph
Complete Resto by Tom Townsend about ten years ago since maintained by a good friend of mine, I’ve been fortunate to spend a fair amount of time on her.
The boats got a soul
