Was looking fishy out to Jefferies today, herring balls, corys, ganetts, petrels, few whales. The table is set, just waiting the guest of honor.

That forcast was a little understated, it was snappy & rolling hard white most of the day. Arms are pretty tried tonight, as the A/P was not up for surfing home.

Heard 3rd hand of a cocker getting landed by a Portland boat yesterday, pushing 800#

Chatter on the radio last night was someone took one & dropped another. Rolling up on the haddock ridge this morning there was a boat doing the circle jerky but he lost him shortly after. Didnt see much under us, but were ground pounding up high & pretty quite on the vhf for 10 boats on the edge.

Can't learn much from 10 boats, lessen their your friends. Or you see them doing circles. Thinkin you don't have to do many circles for Haddock. :)

I made my first trip Saturday, got out in the dark, saw absolutely no sign. Even the birds seemed to know nothing interesting yet - at least where I was at.

Bait was there and that's it, not even a suspicious scratch.

There are a few around got texted this earlier captioned "stuck today". Lanky fish or a pygmy lying on the deck. Either way certainly gets the blood pumping IMG_1086.jpg

Got word of a rod n reel fish taken by a local Thursday. 98" and pretty fat. He is suddenly very popular (& tight lipped)

May get an acute case of occupational anal glaucoma later this week....

I'm going to take a ride east tomorrow (well, east for me anyway). Plan to put in nw of the claw and ride the break down to the dump, then look around.

Mostly I'm just expecting a nice boat ride with an occasional interruption by bluefish. I'll be solo so the spread will be simple.

I'll be on 68 if anyone is looking for intel.
