nope, and nope. The inner most part of the gasket are not trimmed all the way to the outer part of the exhaust port. There for blocking 15 to 20 % of exhaust flow.

Sorry for not keeping up with this thread. I was battling what I thought was a nasty cold all last week so Mrs. Diesel had me going to bed straight after dinner.
In short, when the owner saw the engine out, and saw the numbers to get it completely out of the boat he pulled the trigger on getting it out and off the boat. Then I started removing parts to repair existing leaks, and the owner wanted to take care of some stuff while everything was out (like the base pan gasket). I also replaced all R/W hoses and replaced suspect hose clamps with AWAB brand hose clamps.

    Thank you.

It was nice to work on the engine on the shop floor. There was a bit of an ironic moment, blasting Amazon Music's "Five Finger Death Punch" Chanel and Godsmack's "1000 hp" came on while working on a 108 hp chunk of iron that came out of an 8 knot boat @ WOT.

Got parts in from American Diesel Corp. Those guys are awesome to deal with. I used Pettit Rust-Lock on all badly rusted areas. Then primed and painted parts that will be hidden after the engine get put back together. Put coolant piping and hoses, manifold and exhaust mixer back on. I just locked the inside and outside of the exhaust mixer.

So the owner changed his mind and asked to have all the best exchangers replaced. I am waiting on them to come in. Also the engine room is being stripped down, sanded, primed, and bilge coated. In the mean time I have been pulling a Mastervolt generator out of a J-160 (blow-boat), and making new battery cables for the Lehman project. We also have inventory going on (yah...so much fun) and shop clean up. Anybody want to stop by Strout's in today and tomorrow (I am leaving at noon on Friday) feel free.

While doing this water pump project I noticed sub standard bilge pump wiring and fuse holder in the bilge. I cut out all the bad connections. Then replaced and moved the fuse holder to a better location.

Shout out to Maine Marine Diesel. He called back within hours to give us a quote. He also delivered it to us. Super apologetic about the cover not coming until next week which I won't really need yet anyway.

6kw, you would have to call Maine Marine Diesel for a price. Not allowed to divulge on open forum.

I am doing some home work. Figuring out how many lithium ion batteries I could put in the same foot print and the weight of them. Wouldn't have worked for this customer given the A.C. loads but it will be cool to look at.

I would wait before jumping on the LI battery thing, the technology is changing rapidly and charging large battery banks right now is a problem.

We did a couple boats at my last yard with no issue. Depending on customer needs it is a great option. Even better if you back it up with a small DC genorator.
