No photos so far today, been arguing with Insurance over some of the stupid things that they require. Be sure to look over yawls policies, I had a reject to bind because I did not have a professional extinguisher company come and mount my extinguishers for me. They have it in the fine print that a professional extinguisher company must come annually to weigh and inspect extinguishers and that all extinguishers must be installed by a company whose primary business is installing maintaining and selling fire protection equipment and that said company cannot be the insured
A guy I work with sank his boat on land via a garden hose and it totalled the boat. When the insurance came to inspect the damage they noticed the fire extinguishers didnt have their annual inspection and because of that the claim got denied... I would find another insurance agency

Unfortunately it’s too late into the season for me to hunt around. I am dumping them next year though. They’ve been wishy-washy about the survey I had when I purchased the vessel so I have to hunt for a surveyor in our busiest time for boat work here. I had to be trained by my employee who holds a lower level license than I do for 50 hours, their policy on fire Extinguishers also shows that they lack an understanding of fire protection systems as well.

Do you think these companies have any idea about placement, type and CFR regs if an inspected vessel? I'd be surprised, but it could be true. :)

I promise that they don’t. The fire extinguisher company got a good chuckle when I asked if they could come and put my extinguishers on the bracket. Luckily he will be in the area and said he would do it for free. Reading through it has that they want me to weigh and tag my dry chemical extinguisher‘s annually. A bunch of their hoops have just been absolutely stupid

Sketching out the swim platform, psd dripless seal is in and the shaft is re coupled. Gotta fab a bracket for the steering today and order some adapters of course because they don’t come in the same thread as the old ram

Got the steering in today, minus the new thread adapter. We moved the ram from the transom, forward to where is is accessible from the hatch. Got a coat of epoxy paint and 2 coats of bottom paint on the rudder and shoe and a coat of primer on the wall that was glassed in. Dive tank bench was tacked up and I’m gluing 2 sheets of 1” coosa to start the swim platform. I’m going to cut 3 8” long sections of 4x4 angle 316 steel and use 1/2” bolts to secure it from the bottom, right over my exhaust. That also puts it inline to be through bolted with a 2x4 utilizing the decks framing. Then I’ll work on glassing the platform and fabbing top supports

Looks great! Give the Mrs. an "attagirl" for me. Teamwork makes the dream work and all that.
What's going on with the bathroom scale?

That’s the beginnings of the swim platform, I brought it in last night to wipe it down and dry. I glued it this morning and am going to sand the edges round as I can while I have a weather window before our week of rain arrives

Haha. Gotcha. Kudos to her again then.
I push my limits quite often but boat work in the bathroom would be a big no no even for my very salty copilot.

It’s usually a no for me, I just have to distract her or wait till she falls asleep…we are also trying to splash by April 8 and I have to work 5 days between then

It’s been a minute since I posted, but I’ll update with pics tonight! We got a bit done!

Anyone else have Concepts Special Risks as their insurance company? So far I cannot stand them but am looking to do someone different for my scuba charter insurance next year. JKJ was my broker and basically said they were my only option for a “new venture” No matter how ridiculous they may be
