12 vlv cummins mech. lift pmp?

Does a 12 vlv Cummins have a mechanical lift pump? Checked both fltrs, vents, blew out lines,and engine still starved of fuel.

A Cummins 6B 6BTA, 6CTA have mechanical lift pumps.

Describe a bit more what you are doing? Did you change the fuel filter or filters?

Describe the types of filters.

Is the engine new to you?

Did the engine lose prime?

On a mechanical 6B it is best to fill the fuel filters when you replace them.

Make sure the filter and lines are tight.

And you MUST pump the lift pump black plunger 40-50 times til it "squeeks" then try srating with the throttle lever @ 100% throttle.

Not uncommon to repeat the priming process 2-3 times.
