Ive got a Powerwinch capstan (same as listed in the classifieds) and need a suggestion for a 12v solenoid, similar to a starter solenoid Ford uses in their trucks and Fischer Plows use with their electric plow pumps.
Can't imagine an auto parts store type will last very long in the salt water .
Thanks

Electra Dyne sells one for use with the haulers you might give them a call.

this might do,

we used theese for the fuel pumps and electric fans in the race car

80 Amp Relay 12 Volts

lots of parts on a boat come from the auto industry, mount it and hose it with corrosion X

Thats pretty much what I'm looking for.
Thats the one Fischer plows use, but don't think it will last near salt water.
I've got a Lewmar foot switch mounted on the deck, but it's meant to activate a solenoid only.

Ron, it wont last if its taking spray all day, but if you have it mounted inside or bellow decks, i wouldn;t worry about it. Spray it with corrosion X. Nothing lasts when it takes spray EVEN if it say marine on the label. @ 16 buck how many of thoose can you go through before you reach the cost of the lewmar "marine" relay
