Bos,
The boat crises around 17-18 kts...wide open 22-24 as I recall. I bought the bare hull and did the boat with my sons. As for fuel ..its been run 57 hours and had 57 gals
of fuel run through it. The boat pushes easy and 17 is fine for what I do with the boat.I took 5 " off the shear, so it has more sweep than most Gulf Fleets.

What do you have for a beam on her?

I bought my Leblanc 16 from Chris Jr (it was the blue one without the cabin) and am getting ready to power her this winter with an ETEC.

If you could do it all over again would you put a ninety on her?

Bos,
A ninety would be too much. Novi's have a tendency to porpoise at speed. That being said the 18' can take a lot of weight. The 70hp is really economical and the boat still can go.

Handles well for an 18ft boat, handles the mouth of the Merrimack river, and thats not always the smoothest sailing.

Following sea is absolutely no problem...just keeps running them over. In the mouth of the Merrimack..just put the coal to her and hang on...good little boat.

Chris Tobey had the mold..I don't know if his son is still building hulls or not. Chris was a great guy and did a nice job on the boats. He could add 2 feet to the beam and up to 4 feet to the length of the boat...great boats.
