2000 31' Duffy built by Atlantic boat company / finishes by Genral Marine

Boat has been maintained incredibly cosmetically and mechanically.

Just gonna ratle off some of the basics and will add more specifics later
Boat cruises very conservatively at 21- 22 knts at low 2000, wot is roughly 25-26 loaded


Cummins 6cta 430 turbo diesel. w 950hrs
4.5k Northern lights diesel generator w/ 100hrs
side power bow thruster
2- 90 gallon fuel tanks
trolling valve
Multiple 110 gfi outlets.
marlin windlass
Wayne sliding, and flip up windows, all 100% water tight
remote search light/ new deck lights mounted on rocket launchers.
simrad Auto pilot
radar / color chart ploter, sounder, Northstar 951( new $250 ne card) ! New Furuna finder/
ipod / cd player, sat radio, marine radio, will get more specific
marine heat, and Ac unit.

Hydraulic lifts on eng box( entire motor cover / seat and drawers lift up with the flip of a toggle switch.)

Complete service top to bottom just done 2013 season . Belts , hoses, heat exchanger, after cooler, valves, fluids , filters, prop scan, new batteries added. all work was preventative and scheduled maintenance .

Thought I would spend some time getting pics up first. Some pics are last season , before add ons. Rod holders, taco rod storage , lights, cushions , etc





Deck is just wet in pics not discolored.
Don't like the generator or box ? Easily removed , worth some bucks also . Maybe 5g Sell it , its bairly used.
Because its all wired in , I figured I'd leave it up to next owner. There is a freemen hatch opening under box

will take a partial trade . something to stay on the water while new boat is being built.


Platform is currently off , but can easily be reinstalled.

in 11 years the guy put 670 hr on it. I was only worried that it didnt run enough. At least untill I met the mechanic . he fired it up weekly and did a run through of everything. The guy laughed about it.

Curious ?

11 years, 670 hours. Did the mechanic ever take the aftercooler off the engine and service it? Disassemble, clean and put it all back together with a good coating of marine grease where the dissimilar metals meet and then pressure test it overnight?

Remember, on the 6B/6C the bottom 1/3 of the cooler sits in sea water 24/7/365. An annual zinc change is not enough.

IHMO the "service" should be done after every 4th season regardless of hours. Helps prevent the possibility of the engine breathing highly compressed salt air.

Can't tell you when and how frequently this was done without going through my records, which are on the boat. I will put a call into the previous mechanic today. All I can honestly tell you is , my mechanic( A diesel mechanic for 25 years) said it was extremely well cared for motor. He went searching through the 2 foot stack of papers to get some info. And said he has never seen someone so anal , and realy just silly overkill.

With that being said I am a marine diesel idiot. I do what Im told by the profesionals , luckily ive got a friend thats a very qualified diesel mechanics thats remodeling his house.
Im a contractor ,and now that he constantly needs my help, I dont feel like an ass asking for his.

Every now and then a poorly maintained aftercooler takes out a very good engine !! ALL preventable !!

What do you think you are burning at that cruising speed of 19kts? Anyone roughly know for that engine.

Do you know what is on there for a prop? Typical Dynaquad? Be nice to throw a DQX or better on there. This boat seems to be teasing me...

Just curious, what did you do to decore?

I drilled out holes with a bi metal 3 1/4 inch hole saw, aboat 1/8 biger than holder diam. Then sealed inner walls of hole completely with 5200 sealant , along with sealing screw holes. Before dropping holders into place ,I applied a bead of marine gasket sealant to back side of holder flange. Although I had a machine shop fab me som 1/4 alluminum plates to extend the load on top of the holders backing plates, In the end I felt the LD backing plates ( although strong) had just enough give for me to crank tight and they somewhat formed to the slight contour of under rail.
I feel the ability to form to the rail was more importaint then extending the actual plate. After all the holder itself is only as strong as the actual rail its atatched to.

some new lights being wired up! Also a winter project , gen box table for cruising , removes to add a filet table when it's time to get bloody. New white ribbed cushion for the lower gen seat, will be ready for 2013.
