No rush but I am considering a pocket downeast boat for my Sarasota, FL home. 21-24 feet with single outboard. Soft top for rack storage. Ideally I would buy another Seaway Seafarer but none on the market anyway.
There is a 21 Roth and a 22 Mathews Brothers in Maryland that look interesting. Thoughts?

The most seaworthy 22 footer OTW is the Sisu made by Eastern Boat in Milton New Hampshire. Sisu is Finnish for stamina and guts.

I am running a Seafarer 288 and have not found a suitable replacement. It is all original from 1998 so I am looking to repower this year and upgrade the electrical system. Can't beat a SeaVee2 hull IMO.

Why? Sargent’s just said they have a build slot open a few weeks ago? He could have a boat by May or June.
Well ...he was supposed to get back to me with a price over a month ago... after several additional inquiries, still haven't heard anything...I've decided to go another route

That is surprising to hear. I had great communication with him when we had a customer contemplating a build. Very active and attentive.
Well...I don't know what the problem is...I have the cash ready to build...I just figured he must be too busy with the bigger hulls and doesn't want to deal with a 23 right now

Hp to Hp I believe they are faster? I like the length to beam ratio, and they just look damn good. Wrap that package up with Joe Sargent building and finishing them. Great boat with a great history.
Great boats. Was just trying to prove you wrong since you said to.

I'm still hoping Salty Boats of Maine makes a 24' Nauset since they now have the mold. It would make the perfect outboard boat with a wide beam.
