My dad just passed down his 1985 22' Sisu to me. The boat has been sitting for a couple of years and needs some mechanical and cosmetic attention. I have decided to do a full makeover from top to bottom...literally. The boat gets hauled out tomorrow and the first project will be to pull out the 88 HP Yanmar and go through it. While it's out, I plan to clean and paint the bilge, replace the steering, add a dripless shaft seal, and new batteries. At the same time she will get a full paint job in Awlgrip Flag Blue on the hull and a light cream interior. If the budget allows a teak deck will be laid in the cockpit, along with new seating, bimini top and a mooring cover. This boat has always been a cruiser, never fished. I doubt there are many of these boats in my area of NE Florida. She has always turned heads in the past around here and when I am done I imagine it will turn even more. I will post pictures along the way and am open to any and all comments and suggestions.

Now that looks like a big project. Good luck with it. What shaft diameter are you running? I have some vibration in mine that I feel may be caused by a marginally sized shaft.

HG - you are a fine one to speak - how's your re-build coming along. You should post some pix on this board or start a thread.:)

LOL I switched to Capt. Morgans!I will start a thread when I get back from vacation. Leaving for Puerto Rico in the morning. But for now here's how the motor looks. Going back in when I get back. Sorry for the crappy cell phone pic.

Mine has a 1 inch bronze shaft. My prop guy said it's plenty big enough. 14x11 3 blade if I remeber correctly.

A very nice boat---and I'm an old sailboat owner (both). When you're ready to show the boat, we would like to come up from Titusville to see her. We're trying to decide on a replacement for my Father-in-law's 22' "picnic launch" and a Sisu like yours is high on the list. best wishes
