200 evinrude should be bolted on this week and we are off to the beach

next year i'd like to trade this boat for a downeast project boat from 30 to 35 foot. or a 31 bahia mar bertram....

keep me in mind...... just a hobby of mine...

Nice job. I really like that console. Is that original to the skiff or did you find it elsewhere (currently looking for a console like that myself)....?

Nice work on the privateer. I have 2 -24'renegades and run them commercially. I kinda like that you made it strong practical and not ultra glossy. The boat is a working class boat and You kept to those roots. Keep up the good work and let's see more pics.

Rob,

I came across a 24 Renegade with a wheelhouse... Complete rehab needed. Once I officially own it I will document all the things we do. That one needs a deck, tank, wheelhouse, windows, etc

@MDI45...I probably would have bought the one they have for $495 all fiberglass, but I just got this. Already hired my best friend to build something, he works for a wooden boat co down in Mattapoisett.

It'll be a fiberglass on wood monster lol.

yeah its not a bad console but it is always better to build exactly what you want...post some pictures of her

We're glassing her over this weekend...last picture she's glued and screwed. If you double click on the picture it'll take you close. Obviously she's going to have rounded edges but you get the point.

I'd like to get her sprayed but we might have to roll-and-tip. She's going to hold a 40 gallon tank forward and eventually a combo chartplotter/fishfinder/gps under the compass on the instrument panel.

Unfortunately the privateer hulls that anyone would really want are gonna need some rehab. Warren wilkerson(founder/owner of privateer) has not been with privateer since may of 96'. Since then gilbert has taken over and changed the way the boats were built.

All privateers 1996 and older were the real "brick" hulls. They generally need new tanks and decks under normal working conditions. If the boat was driven to hell and back for twenty years then the work can go further beyond the basic.

Its rare that you find one that needs anymore done to the hull then just some cosmetics.

Still currently running a 1983 24 renegade w/f225 n 1996 18ft retriever cc w/90hp johnson.

I'll sell the 35jc before i sell these two privateers

Even my wife and kids love this Privateer. If u ever find a 20 project I am buying it for my daughter. Ill paint it bright pink.. Lol...

that 20 will drown you, it's probably the wettest boat ever made, believe it or not the 18 is way better.

i own a 24 pretty good boat, but the floor is too low, and if you raise the floor then the sides aren't high enough.

The 20's are easy to come by though the 18's are rare to find. No mine is not for sale lol

for a bay boat the 20 would be fine. Just dont over power it. 90hp is plenty on that boat.

We had a 20 before moving up to the 24. The 18 is a smoother and lil dryer ride then the 20.
