I appreciate all of the great responses on this forum so far during my boat search. I have been all over the map with different boat options but the bottom line is I have about 25k to spend total and I really need something trailerable.

I have located two really good deals, one on a 25 BHM and the other is a General Marine 25'. The GM has a diesel and the BHM has a Chevy gasser but is priced accordingly. Both need major cosmetic work as well as the requisite tuna gear.
What are some pros and cons when these two boats are compared to one another, assuming the BHM would be repowered with a small diesel?

Thanks as always.

Not sure how the GM25 vs the GM26... I am PRO-GM26 as everyone can tell here...

GM 26 is out of my price range, which is unfortunate because I know it's a great boat.

Let us know what you do... I almost picked up a GM25 for a strictly commercial hull while owning my GM26, just because I liked them so much and a deal came up on one.

Where are you out of?

I built a 25 General Marine in 1985 from a bare hull. The boat had a 360 Chrysler 275 hp. It was and still is a great boat. Good in a sea...the boat will take more than you can. The boat is full time lobstering now.

I keep the boat in the inner harbor of Manchester, Mass. Fish the bank and bay regularly for Bluefin.
