I have a 25'general with a tamd61a under the engine box. I wonder what a different boat she would be with an outboard.

With a 61? What is that one rated at for HP?

I do wonder how the outboard does with no weight up in the breast area to drive into the waves... also being a center point for drifting maybe... IDK

Tamd61a is rated at 306hp Boat is a little bow heavy but very stable. I get the same scupper wash running forward occasionally like some others have experienced with there boats. The boat will cruise honest 20knots burning 8.5-9 gph. She'll make 26knots or better at max but i rarely go there except down the home streach to my slip to clean here out once in a while. I spin a 21"x17" four blade nibral. I am under proped and could probably spin a 20" but she has been proped this way for 26yrs. and i do not think it would be wise to change it at this point. I've had the boat 16yrs. same engine. General Marine makes a real sea kindly boat.
