there were a couple around here guys used for crabbing, they were good boats, not a lot of room in them, but they worked fine. that speed doesn't sound quite right, i'm pretty sure they didn't cruise that fast.
couple of comparisons in addition to my downeaster I own a 25 mako, a 24.5 x 9.6 C hawk center console. a 23 seacraft cc and a 25 DLX carolina skiff with a 200 Honda
The C-hawk can drift fish 6 people and myself very comfortably all on one side with no list witha 200 honda that has 4000 hrs the boat will do with 5 200lbs plus people an enormous live well and gear a light cruise of 19 knots 25 in the corner with 3 people 21 -23 knots sipping fuel. people i know with the privateer marvel at the hawkand this is an 86 hull with the original deck and transom.
I've had a couple privateers. They are perfect for me. I just redid the blue on that has been on here. Personally... I would avoid that boat. The engine box kills the boat and there really isn't any protection for the running gear... Even with the tunnel... There is a small skeg... 22 knots is nothing for these boats. Mine does 41 knots but I run it at 22 knots with a 200 outboard
