I'm going to look at this boat hopefully today. She's a 1995 from the FibFab mold. Is going to need repower and electronics. Do you guys know of anything I should look for when checking it out? Any opinions?

Since it need new power and electronics you have really ticked two of the biggest boxes. I would check to see how the tabbing looks on the bulkheads. Also bring a moisture meter with you. Check the stringers if you can get access. That about all I can think of the moment.

I built 22 of the outlaw 25,s . They are hard chined, 25by 10 and built like brick shithouses. 4 longtitudinal stingers brought all the the way up to deck height.l At one time there was 5 of those boats in Newburyport Mass. The guys I built them for love them. You never see them for sale. I built all custom tops for them and all were a little different. I have a 1995 lobster style at cove marina in newburyport and the guy loves it. never had a problem. I built one with a 315 cummins with a 273 hamilton jet drive for a guy down in Harwichport mass. as a conch boat that he fished for years. That thing was awesom, and did about 45knts. I built that boat as a striped bass boat for a guy in Stevensvill Md. He loved that boat and owned it for years. I cant remember what it had for power, but I think it was a 350 Volvo v-8 gas. steve law 978-764-6566

now that I look at the pictures, that radar arch was made by Noel Redman when He first got in the marine fabrication busness. I have used him since, The Best. Steve.

Thanks for the info Steve. I'm waiting for the owner to have her pulled down out of the top rack in the boatel. I'll give you a call when I get to see her up close. I've even got my wife on board for this one so hoping it works out.

The fibfab with the jet drive is still going and I see him off of chatham for commercial bass. That is an awesome sounding boat and it really does fly. They are definitely stout boats from what I have seen and heard from the guys down here in orleans.

The molds are gone. I know where they are but they are completely junk.

Made the deal this morning. Got her for a crazy low price. Boat comes home on Monday. I'll post some more pics when I get her home.

Just got her home. Now to get to work on her. While my wife stake a claim on her seat.

Great looking hull. Does it have an outdrive? I don't see the prop.

The motor and outdrive are out. I have to go back to pick them up. Had a Volvo Penta 5.8L Ford and a duo prop outdrive. The motor is junk but I may be able to save the outdrive according to the mechanic that pulled them.

Things are coming together nicely. I picked up my new trailer the other day. Had my buddy and my wife helping make a couple adjustment. She's sitting on her new ride now. I've got a motor built ready to go in 5.8l Volvo and got my parts in to finish up the outdrive.

Just ran across this thread and did this 25 outlaw ever get it in the water. if so how did it ride and handle. dose it pound in a chop with the chine starting about at the helm area

Yes, We've had her in the water for a couple years now. She rides great haven't had any issues with pounding. Cut right thru anything I've been in here in the Chesapeake. Handles great I was a bit skeptical having never had a duo prop but no complaints. Great boat, Always get compliments from the guys down here. She isn't like our regular work boats around here.
