28' Cape Dory fishing boat

There is another one on CL for sale in Maine. Does anyone have any input on how these boats handle the rough stuff?

i went and looked at the other one thats for sale on maine craigslist, was all set to buy it then the deal on selling my boat fell through and i wound up deciding to keep it, but the one in maine would be a steal for anyone interested in one, they are a huge boat for 28 feet, and the one in maine is set up extremely well for tuna fishing and the owner had done a ton of work to it and almost everything in it was new, its on uncle henrys in maine in the commercial boats and equipment section,

28's are too small for 6 pack charters. (Don already talked me out of it).

Any thoughts on a nice 28 BHM with a 210 Cummins pot hauler & twin anchors. Great for charter. It will be a bit north of 20 k. local boat.

Fellas I'm really looking for someone who has been out in the slop in this boat. I'm gonna move to a new boat at the end of 2013 and I'm back and forth between a 28-30ft down east or a 26cc cape cod marine. Thanks in advance.

Mike, what is your budget. Guys here love to shop with other people's money, myself included, lol! I had a Seaworthy 28, (BHM) it was a great boat fwiw.

Cape cod 26's are bad ass rigs for a center console. Always wanted one. Fished on one this summer and the thing is a tank and its got some balls to boot. There was one on craigslist that was really well set up for about 50k cant find it though.

I just bought a cape dory as the bhm's were all beyond what I could afford and am not crazy about an engine box. The general marines look like one hell of a boat but they too were a bit pricey. I heard many good things on the cape dory and the newer low hours 240 yanmar made an attractive buy for me. I have not fished here yet and am process of customizing her but have no regrets.

Yes I've found a few in that price range. I'm not ready to pull the trigger until the end of this year so I'm gonna take my time and shop ad go on a few rides. I have not heard one negative about the cape cod 26 but I have to weigh my options and make the best buy for my needs. I debate back and forth between a center(cape cod) or a down east. Wish I could afford both.

Went to look at the one in maine. I thought the boat was rough. big crack in wheelhouse, door was warped, my head smack the roof and a lot of blisters and cracks in fiberglass. If your a tall and big man no room in inside.

Same here I looked at it too...that boat is overpriced IMHO
