30' Sisu

I saw this 30' Sisu on Yachtworld.com and thought the lifting strakes were a little different. Is this how they came from the factory or are they add-ons? Anyone know if they help to stabilize the boat from rocking? They must help some I would think.

I doubt those have any lift at all, extra keels is all. No doubt for the roll

Isn't that referred to as a bilge keel? Used for stabilizing roll.

those fins are to try to stop the roll

yup, looks like the anti-roll fins they put on the bilge strake on big ships, i agree with everyone else!

I wonder if i could do something like that on my Sisu 26 , boy it rolls like Cheech and Chong .............

My boat rolls like your Sisu - especially when drift fishing. I was thinking about installing some too. Maybe some composite material and leftover fiberglass I have lying around. I can always take them off if it doesn't work out. How long for a 20' boat? Anyone?... Anyone?...(Ferris B.)

Why not toss on a riding sail instead? Keep your nose into it.

That's a great idea. Why don't you see riding sails more often? I wonder how big one would have to be for a thirty footer?

8x5 maybe? One might find an old windboard on craigs list and try it out, or even some strapping and a tarp. Prototypes that can be easily adjusted

Maybe an old Sunfish sail will work.
