32-36 DE Sportfishing boat 20knt plus?

We're selling our 32 Albemarle FB and with the price of fuel it's hard not to factor it into our next boat. i know alot of guys are going to DE boats. I've looked quite a bit and may not be able to get what we would want in a DE boat for the money we have which is about a $100k max. , definetly have togo used. We also need decent living quarters for at least 3 people to comfortibly stay on, where I definetly loose out on alot of the DE's is cruise speed which we want at least a 20 knt cruise speed. We also need one with a generator and Cruisair. We'd like tobe in the 32-36 range. Am I dreaming trying to find a DE like this or are there any that would fit our needs?
Boats like a 35 Maine Coaster would even be OK, if it had a bit more power then the ussaul set-ups, I used to fish on one with twin 250 hp cummins that cruised 20 knts easily. it was a bit loose in the ass on a following sea but not to bad. we ran it offshore quite a few trips with no problems, I think Harris made a boat that would work as well, I just really have to learn about the DE boats, i know getting one with twins kind of makes it no longer a true DE but if I still got good fuel mileage that would be fine, when I say good fuel mileage anything better then 1.5mpg at cruise would be fine. I'm reading alot of past threads on here to learn more about DE's, I would even be happy with just a Express Sportfish with s single engine diesel set-up but can't find any. thanks ,for your input.

I hear you, seems like a Sportfishing DE boat like we're all looking for needs tobe offered new, but then most of us couldn't afford a new one. I know they do make them but they seem to market them as lobster or charter boats, time to market a recreational private owner version

Both are nice boats and have alot of things we want, but back to speed again. Definetly agree on why there aren't alot like we're looking for, we'd love tobe able to order one to match our needs but just don't have the money. Thanks.

That would be plenty fast considering the saveings it would give us on fuel. the cabin space maybe a bit tight, do you have a removeable seat for the helm? when running longer trips we'd need tobe able to sit down, but that's not a big thing to add it looks like there may be mounts for one. if our deal looks good we'd like to schedule a trip to come see her, definetly shows how well you've maitained her for a 12 yr old boat, really beautifull.

I am well aware we can't afford to have a new one built, that would have tobe a hit the lotto for me. I think the thread has went a different direction.

Northern Bay 36 - Modified
I think you might be reaching too far with that size range and having the genset on board, I think it might be obtrusive in the installation.

Not many boats of those sizes have the required space below deck to hide something along those lines.

A Northern Bay 36 does, and it's really only 35' 9". I'd look for one of those set up the way you'd like.

That Duffy 31, nothing against the owner but really shows how one can customize a DE.

The other Duffy 31/General Marine 31 is definitely interesting...

A 36 fter would be fine with me, I changed my thread title to say so. I guess I'm going by Sportfishing boats in the 31-35 range, and most of them have room for twin engines, big fuel tanks and generators. some are definetly tight, but with a single engine I would think there should be plenty of room for a generator and cruiair unit., We have all that in our twin engine 32 Albemarle with only a 11' beam.
I also mentioned I'd be interested in a single engine IB diesel in a sportfish Express boat, but you just don't see many. there is a nice one on yachtworld but it has a 380 hp Detroit which I've been told are very hard to get parts for these days, I definetly need to confirm that, but it's the only Express I've seen with a single IB diesel in it, cruise is 22 knts, it has a gen., AC, nice cabin , and huge cockpit, I can't find anything out about the boat I beleive it is a custom made boat. but I am looking at boats like that as a option as well.
