Love it, looks like mine on steroids! I really like the idea of it all except I want to have a step to have no engine box and then a L shaped seat... Skip the generator with the extra engine box. I like the Duffy 31 and Stacey combo for sure...

if you go back a 3 to 4 weeks ago there was a thread started on it. I tried to hit search button but it keeps zooming out of it.

Been having a problem trying to contact them about the reserve price, mind you I am oversea's off their schedule but she did call me back a few times.

I did notice something, says there are about 800hours on the engine but in the pictures it says 400 or something... I imagine the pictures of from the prior owner who bought it. Interesting story maybe, love the idea, I'd pay 50k in a heart beat for it... I think I have a boating problem. I do wonder what condition it really is in, besides the one broken window...

There is a reserve price that only the bidder knows I believe... Let say 40-80k or something insane, bid doesnt become active until it gets there... That brings up my second issue, wondering if this company is just using this to bid up the price or something weird, they seem like a great company with all the feedback. I think to bid though is $150 atleast or something, non refundable but couldnt be wrong... I have limited bandwidth out here... I bet they want something crazy like 80k for it...who knows...

Ha! Figures... Downeast prices are insane, remember what something is worth and what something will sell for. Those are two different prices and timing is everything.

Anyone know what a Duffy 31 kit goes for?

I am telling you Atlantic Boats and Fortier have been the worst two company's to talk too. I remember in 2002 with Atlantic boats trying to line up a tour and get info, never got it. Finally after repeated attempts got some new guy and he lined up everything from a tour to a sea trial even though we were dead on building a boat with them. We were attempting to build a NB36 but were sure if we wanted to go with the Duffy/Atlantic 37 at the time. If it wasnt for that one guy things would have never happened. Fortier same bit and my father and I were right in SE Mass. Amazing how some nice builders up there were just spot on with customer service... That is why I like H&H everything is on the webpage baby...

Flowers Boat Works 46 hull #1, Flowers Boat Works 36 hull #1, Wayne Beal 28 Hull #1, Repco 30 1968,
I too could not get a response from ABC when looking to build, I guess they didn't take me seriously and I didn't take their pricing seriously either.

Same here. I called on pricing 2 times 5 years apart from each other and got no response after repeat calls. I finally decided that if they can't quote me a price there is no way they can lay me up a hull. Seems they just wanted to deal with there regular finishers or those who want them to do the entire boat. Ownership has changed now so I hope the business ethic has also.

Seems that is the way of so many businesses today. I just do not get it and frankly have given up waiting and call others if I do not get a quote within a day or so. I have called for quotes from insurance (MOTT) to shipping people and get promises to get back to me and nothing. Back in 98, Wayne Beal was same way when I was looking but at the time ABC was great and that's why I bought their hull. Young Bros was also ok but was busy and could not deliver on my time frame.

I've always had good experiences with ABC. I looked over their 31' (maybe 7 or 8 yrs ago). I got a tour & pricing real quick. Of course their prices are out of line with the competition, but they've got the name. Another time I was looking at an old 34' Duffy & spent quite a bit of time on the phone with one of their old hands (I can't remember his name) discussing the evolution of the 34'-35' hull. Did their management change again recently?

First negative thing I have ever heard about Fortier and customer care/service. My own experience with Fortier is just the opposite. I spent many hours talking to Rod a few years ago just by dropping by the shop without appointment. He always took the time to talk and show me what he had going on. Actually I have never heard a bad word about that company.....ever.

I've had a very positive experience with Atlantic Boat, in fact we're doing the final sea trial on our 33 Duffy this monday. Not only did ABoat do everything they promised, they finished the build 3 weeks early...how often does that happen with Maine boat builders?

Take a walk in someone else's shoes...death of a company principle followed up by a huge fire then the worst recession since the 30's!

I didn't have any problem contacting Atlantic Boat but I did take the time to go to the Maine builders show to meet with them in person. I followed that up with a basic outline of what I was looking for in a boat, Nate was able to do a quote from there. I was then invited to visit the ABoat facility and do a test ride on a 31 hull they had recently launched.

Like making any other major purchase, show them you're interested in their product and serious in your search and I'm sure they'll respond in a timely manner. Doing a build quote takes time and input from the buyer...especially with a custom boat.
