I’ll give a little tease………
Ripped out all of the cockpit washrails & the transom livewell.
Wasn’t happy with the shape of the livewell I made a few years ago & previous owner installed all the rod holders & wasn’t big on de-coring, nor was he big on de-coring when he fucked with the transom scuppers (transom core was wet as was a lot of the washrails, tuna door & fish hold lid) Plus rod holder layout sucked.
While visiting Bill to check out his boat build I saw a livewell tank he had on the floor & was looking to sell. Perfect shape & size though I modified & wrapped the sides & bottom with 1” Davina cell.
Cut the top off & layed up a new solid glass one with a very large lid. Livewell will be glassed/incorporated into the transom & washrails. Will be elevated off the deck to fit a tote underneath.
Washrails are going to be 1” Coosa. 5’x 12’ board made for making them in 2 sections with a small filler center of the transom.

Yet again, I have garage envy...
All in Ronnie. Well worth it for a great hull.

Made some progress on my washrails & coamings.
Spent more time thinking about design how I wanted it layed out than to make them up.
1” Coosa for both washrails & coaming
A bit more glue (hull & deck) & stainless screws then they come back off & back into my garage on the lay up tables to glass bottom side and the benefit of gravity instead of glassing upside down.
Changing up the tuna door from a 1 piece to 2
Door was way too heavy 1 piece and not really gusseted up for my liking.

Good call. Working upside down sucks.
A couple of guys I know have no washrail where their door is. Never loved it but their doors are super easy to use.

4 days worth of grinding,de-coring & clean up done (thank god !!!)
De-cored areas done with hull & deck putty I’m finally starting to put it back together.
Transom-cockpit hull sides & transom door just going to get glassed up heavier (fuck putting core material back on !)
The devinicell deck had some areas to patch where a wire chase (pvc) was eliminated and have no friggin idea why, but port side deck behind winter back, previous owner had a large aluminum Diamond plate screwed & glued down covering a big hole. Will install a new 1624 P&E hatch
Patched that big hole with 1” Coosa
Hope to have all of transom glassed up heavy by weeks end, install 4 new Lumitec underwater lights across the transom then start patching in across the stern and make a new ramp for the tuna door.

Unless you've done this stuff, you can only guess at the hours involved.
Lots of hard by hand work there.
The air tool lots quite dangerous
Good to see you back at it.
Boat will be better than new !
