Figured I'd share my 1982 young brothers rebuild. Bought in 2010 and was rebuilt in winter 2011 and finally launched august 2011.
We used the old cabin as a mold and screwed the nida core to it from the inside and then glassed the outside. Did this for the trunk cabin, windshield, starboard side and roof.

What was done:
Replace stick built(rotten) cabin with fiberglass nida core.
Move cabin ahead 3ft
Go from a straight 4 window to a curved 3 window
Replace all wood under rail with fiberglass box tubing
Replace wood rail with solid glass
Push exhaust ahead of windshield
Build Engine Box
Add a Solid Glass 3ft stern extension
Add Vents in stern for floor

Only wood in the boat now is the deck(glassed both sides) and the main bulkhead.

boat looks awesome!! did you do all the work yourself?? ill be doing my 30 young bros this coming winter, always looking for ideas.

Just had help from my father and brother. And hired a guy for a few weeks who was good with putty.

I got the idea from being in rockland and seeing a 1981 33 young brothers that looked like a crowley beal

it defiantely came out awesome. what did you use as coring to build the top?? what kinda power and speed are you geting with the 33?

3/4 inch nida core with solid glass lips on it to try to keep the rain away from me when i'm working.

its got a 220 jd. I'm only getting 20 knots but I was over wheeled and still have 150 turns to go. Took two inches of pitch off the prop. So we'll see this year.

The boat looks great, I know that you can hardly wait to start working on it.

Off the top of you head do what is the measurement from the stern to your main bulkdhead, or from the bow to the main bulkhead.

Pretty sure its 18' or 19' from stern to bulkhead. may be wrong. could get a measurement on it if you'd like. pulling her from the water this week.
