Downeast newbie here... I was on their website and their 34 ' price was about 55k hull , top and couple add ons. So here is the question. What kind of power would u need/ fit? Cummins 25 kt cruise or minimal power. Cost effective . And how much for installation and power on that. Motor shaft etc. Would that include deck?? And finish over time chairs , electronics , head , etc when I can afford it. I wanna get an idea on price but I don't bother them w alot of dumb questions..ANY and ALL info is appreciated

Prices are going up constantly. If you're more than a few months out, it's not even worth guessing.

If you want a top speed of 25 knots better plan on 500-600hp depending on how heavy the boat ends up. If you want to cruise at 25 knots, better go with 700-800hp. Nothing is cheap, be ready to spend some real money for a new boat.

Hey arc I did say 25 cruise. I also said newbie so bare w me. Don't know what can fit in there . Never done this before. And yes I know it costs real money . Question was how much ? Can you fit a 500 horse in that hull.... Some people that have done this would be helpful. Thanks

Most or all of the guys replying to you have done this, some many times, trust the opinions.
First thing I would do is spend some time paging through a few builds on here so you can see what exactly a “kit” looks like, once you get an understanding of how much work is left after just getting the hull/top then you can start imagining how much more you need to put into it.
You can spend 150k just on an engine and gear, then there’s everything else like all the glass work, windows, systems, hardware, etc., etc.

If you’re planning on having the boat finished by someone it may be best to start calling around to some shops and get better estimates, also is guess be prepared to wait a few years because they are all busy.

Either way it’s an exciting ride, good luck with it!

Had a 34 put together back in 2005. D9 500hp pushed the boat 24kts WOT. You can fit any size motor you want if you stick build the top. I would stay away from lobster boat design if you are looking for 25 kt cruise. Someone on here just built a 34cb he may share privately what his cost was a few years back. Ball park guess 500-700 depending on finish....

I have a 34 Beal with a QSC 500. Cruise around 18kts at 2180 RPMs, around 26kts WOT. Plenty of room for a larger engine, and I am pleased with it.

Engine, 900hp with zf gear 2 station with equipment 130k, hull-top-trunk whaterline up divinicell coring-3’ extension 100k, 9kw northern lights generator 14,800$. electronics with bow thruster 12kw radar 2 screens, 3kw transducer, fusion music systems with 800 amp 25k. that’s what I know from 1st time boat building Newbie. 269,800$ and I can’t drive anywhere lol I will say that every time I think about a step I continue to catch my self saying bigger bigger or more more but that’s the kind of thing that can push the cost over the ridiculous price. I’m early in the build and I’m personally going to get her floating as cheap as I can. I can always add stuff every season. I didn’t cheap out on the hull, engine, generator because that’s not something I’m going to upgrade in the future. Take a look as the 38’ Calvin Beal listed on here. 150k hull with 750hp John Deere is a great deal. The engine alone today with that gear 115k. That’s a better deal than you starting from scratch and buying everything in today’s economy for the 34’ Calvin Beal.

For short money you can change that 12kw radar to 25 kw and have a killer radar set up. I'd also go with B275 transducer. Same money.

Send me a private message or shoot me a text. I haven’t pulled the trigger on the electronics. I have received 2 quotes. Wharf is definitely a great guy to deal with for anyone interested in purchasing electronics and he’s very knowledgeable and flexible
