I'm not expert, but I remember reading that it is a completely different hull. It is a mold from a wooden boat built in a backyard shop. The next boat built was 35ft... and a legend was born! Someone will know the details but it is a totally different hull.

If you are calling Richard Duffy's kitchen a backyard shop.. Richard and his dad laid the keel in the kitchen and went out into the living room. Taking a plug off a wooden boat is how it was done.

Richard Duffy had a very busy shop in the late 70's-early 80's. A lot of the 41's and 50's are still around. The 34' was a smaller boat with a narrower transom than the 35'. You see them around occasionally. As far as mold construction, back then almost all mold tooling started with the building of a wooden plug, the mold was built from the plug. The wooden plug was usually finished off as a wood boat
