I have seen this boat and it is huge for a 35. High freeboard and beam is 16' or so. Think its FG although it looks to be planked. Also, not sure this is really a DE is it? Novi?

Novi boat. Owned by a local yacht club. They destroyed that little yanmar once already. Its an 8knot boat with the yanmar almost on the pin and all that flimsy plywood crap inside her is a joke.

ETA Shes also been for sale for a few years.

Was on the river in Rowayton last summer advertised at 100k. Very strange boat but it is absolutely HUGE. Bizarre but huge.

Yeah, what sort of dumb ass puts a little Yanmar in a beamy boat like that?

Somethings not right with the gear and or prop if it's smoking engines. That's a full displacement hull so max speed is probably 8-9 knots. If it's greared & propped right and the engine gets full RPM it's no different then any other boat? AM I missing something thing.

Maybe I'm just "old school" but it seems like a slower turning engine is more appropriate for such slow speeds. It just doesn't seem right turning over 3000 to go 8 knots. I'm sure it would work w/ the right reduction, but to me it just seems retarded. I mean you don't see commercial boats that work at displacement speeds running such high revving power. At least I don't. The power is usually less hp per displacement and turns about half the rpms. And lasts forever.

Because yacht clubs do stupid shit. Have highschool kids run boats and the blow boaters dont have a clue.

Thats vlear from the choice of power and the open end grain of varnished plywood sitting right on the floor.

That engines hrs are most likely all idling

I've seen Evangeline for 3 years or so on Yachtworld. I think the asking price has been reduced about 50% in that time.

went from 100k, 99,950, 99,500 to 79k from what I remember. Don't think they know its only worth 35-40 grand lol

high rpm pleasure craft engine in a commercial boat. Build like a shitty pleasure boat. With varnished plywood, leaky windows and a banana deck.

I bet that boat is great to be on though. The pit could easily hold 15 people.

I think they mentioned that it has a 20" prop which to me seems awfully small for a 35x16 boat that probably weighs 16k lbs or so. Engine does seem out of whack and that plywood is just a joke Badlat I have to agree- not even a nice veneer. At least paint it.

The boat is better than it seems though. In good shape and SO much space. No affiliation but if someone liked the style, I think its better than lots of the rotten stuff out there.

I wouldn't of choose that engine but for the right $ that's a lot of boat if you can deal with a 6-7K cruise. Lots of potential.

I know that Novis' aren't "Downeast" per se, but I guess I'm one of the few that like em. This particular one would certainly not be on my favorite list because of the Yanmar (personal preference only! not intending to offend anyone!). At some price point, every boat looks good. Even Travis would buy this if the price were right!

Sounds more appropriate, and that's a much narrower boat.
