Know the boat, knew the owner. He passed a few yrs back I think unexpectedly. Was using it as a charter boat and I can guarantee you that he kept the boat tip-top. I believe she's been sitting on the hard for the past 2-3 seasons. The in-the-water pics look recent: I was down there this past weekend and didn't see her in the water. They must be getting serious about selling it.

Some of those pics are taken to show that she needs some cleaning and paint in some places; I like how honest they are with the pics, it's the right way to advertise a boat.

I was thinking the same thing....I could be wrong....but it looks like a lot of these boat owners ...just fish em and dont do any fix en

They dont even pick up the garbage and crap all over the boats before pics. 80% of the boat I see listed could look so much better after an hours work with a garbage bag and a wet rag.

What is it about cats that they also look like a pile of crap unless they are brand new?

Agreed Lobster. Honestly a good scrub down and a fresh bottom job and she would be looking pretty again. The bottom of that boat looks like someone painted a gravel driveway o_O

Looks like a 320 HP 3208 CAT. Which would make her a 14 knot boat at best. Looking at the top, most likley the tin oil pan is very close to being in need of replacement. A big job.

The 86 cruiser one with the fly bridge sold for 32k.

wow I guess it pays to throw out a low ball offer. I'm not even in the market and I would have given them 40k. I wouldn't have had the balls to kick a seller in the ass like that though. We ought to find out who bought it and call him a carpet bagger. Maybe the engine proved to be unrepairable? The cost to replace a engine has to be quite a bit more in these cabin cruiser type layouts.

Its not hard to see why. Everything elses prices tanked hard. DE boat owners, brokers etc have bairly held up the house of cards. Look at how hard it was for members here to sell super clean low hour boats for a reasonable price. If you go through the for sale sites its the same boats. Some have been on there for years at their insain prices.

Yes most downeasts are built strong but when you have basically an empty hull, an engine that is a ball of rust and 0 care has been given to a boat for a decade plus its not a diamond in the rough its just rough!

The sportfish market tanked so hard boats that were listed in the low 100K range a couple years ago are in the 40-50K range now.

I feel like the prices now are higher than ever with downeast boats! It has to do with the price of materials. When the price to build new goes up the price of used goes up as well. The demand is so high for these boats with the fuel prices.

LOl the only reason I remember it is because it was poste so many times and I spoke to the broker. Who was really scatter brained. I decided dealing with him wasnt worth the drive to go look at it in person. It was only about 45min from me too.

Things normaly sell for what there worth. It sold for a 32k cause it was worth 32k I'm sure. It's certainly not because no one knew about the deal, it was posted on here in about ten different threads.
