Have not heard this in a long time until recently.
How is the 42 Bruno a great tuna boat?

One of the most reputable commercial guys in this area used a 42 to catch a ton of fish. He'd be out there in just about anything. I went with him once and came home in a 15ft chop. The boat and capt handle it well. Me... not so much. But that was about 35 years ago:eek:

From what I was told as kid in the early '90's, the 42' Brunos caught more tuna in Maine than other hulls esp trolling. I would always say, it's not the boat but the guy running it that catches the fish, or is this a rare example of a hull design that the fish come running to? One of my father's fishing pals ran a 42 Bruno that was painted all black on hull and bottom, he said "the tuna would just show up!"

I thought you were supposed to have a white bottom so it looked like a whales belly. All kinds of theories out there.
