Nice project boat find! Convert it to a single screw during rehab.

We are truly enjoying our Bruno sport cruiser but have said to each other that if she was 42’ set up similarly, what more could you want. Never seen a 42’ set up other than a work boat. Gets a guy dreaming. Good score for someone if core is good,. At that price and a new single rec9n could cost less that what the 35’s have been selling for if it doesn’t need much else but sweat equity. Fun to see if one of you guys grab it and polish it up over the winter.

Wow, really like the look of that, bridge included.

Wonder what the core and interior look like. Probably a mess.

I think it needs to go to Keelboater Marine next to the 35.

I’ll buy it when your done...... maybe. :D

I do see quite a bit of potential here............but not for ElMar ever buying it ;).
I think it could make an ideal live-aboard for someone when it's completed. She's pretty salty looking. If I was 35 years younger.......and somewhat "less educated".........maybe :D.

Bulwarks are wood, assume mohaghany and all rotted.

Unfortunately, I think she is too far gone.

No answer on the core, person i contacted I think is a relative or someting.

Hope I’m not over stepping here but bet I can clear up some dreaming or help get a project get going.
I called about the boat and received multiple pictures of the boat right after listing went up. Promised I would not share without permission.
Why does a cat cross the road? maybe I’m just Geeking Out over anything Brunos try to learn more. Anyway.
Boat is at Evans boat yard, Of Evans Chesapeake fame. I talked with Eugene himself. Boat is very much a project boat and has seen better days.
It was a lot of boat at one time. laid out well for its time and finished off with just enough wood trim. There is a v birth, head, a galley, Settee, etc. The boat was said to have had twin 3208 naturals and a genset that have been removed. All the below deck systems appear original and tired from photos. Boat is said to be from the area and has had some starboard wood rub rail damage from a pile that would need to be scrutinized that hull core under wasn’t effected. An area on wash rail-deck area in direct contact to chafe is soft but accessible from below I’m told. There is a wood rub rail and wood bulwark that are rotten and easy be removed and modern rub rails sounds be reinstalled.
Aft cabin overhead superstructure is wood and appears in poor shape. Cabin is said to be solid. The aft deck is mostly removed during engine, genset removal.
Eugene said everything else seemed ok. In fact he said if it does not sell this winter he will be turning it into a work boat as it will sell better for him that way. He claims to have had experience with Bruno Stillman from the beginning and said there are a few in the area. Eugene day we had developed a system that he uses on his boats that would make transition fr twins to a single an easy process. I’m sure I left something out but hop this helps. She would definitely need to be looked over very carefully and surveyed properly maybe there someone in the forum local that could put eyes on the boat in person an report in.

I talked to him also and he stated that the starboard side had chaffed from the washrail down a few inches through the top side of the hull and it was balsa cored. he said he did not know if the bottom was balsa cored or not and did not seem to care to look at the present time. the boat has not been used for years. good luck? 25000 buck, ya right.
