If you have any 42' Mussel Ridge pictures, please post them. I'm having some trouble finding pictures of the stern and running gear when the boat is out of the water. Andrew, do you have any pictures of the stern/prop/rudder? This is the best one I have, sent to me by Albert Hutchinson. The recent launch of "Knock Out" was successful. 750hp Iveco hit 29 (not sure if that's knots or mph), but either way, that's great performance. Who finished "Relentless"?; that's a tough looking boat.

Relentess looks like it could be Dennis Young's old boat Michelle, if it is it was finished at Clark Island I believe. Had a Deutz 600 hp when new haven't seen it for awhile don't know about now.

I heard the MR42 pushes a little easier than other hulls in its class. I always thought it would be a good match for a JD 750hp if it would fit under the deck.

I think any engine would fit under the deck of the MR 42, the hull is about as deep as I've seen in a 40'+ DE. That's one of the things that attracts me to it, and the hard chines. I'm thinking a Volvo D13 700hp, or a JD 13.5 650hp. I have to go with commercially rated engines. It's a mean looking boat, definitely one to have on the list :).

FVSD- Looks like the hull has a pretty good V in the stern. I would love to see a straight on picture of the stern, if someone has one.

I have a bad feeling i would not want to go for a ride on this hull. Cause the next step would more then likely be to get rid of the girlfriend, sell the jc, and then get ordering one :d

so what's the deal with this hull...the other thread on here contains some scuttlebutt to the effect of it's a not-so-good knockoff of a Wesmac. I see the similarities in design, but what are the real differences between the two? Other than $$$ of course.

Frank- It's just someone stating their opinion, I don't think there is a design flaw in the Mussel Ridge. It has hard chines like the Wesmac, so maybe some think it's an attempt to copy Wesmac? Everyone has their opinions on what works for them and what doesn't,it looks to be a really nice boat.

The MR 42 has 2 distinct advantages for my personal use over the Wesmac; 1. The hull is deeper. 2. The hull is substantially cheaper. If I was jumping up to a 42', the MR would be at the top of my list.
