Oil and Water
Thanks for posting photos. Interesting design with the outboards- any news on the speed and handling from 600 hp?
Didn't mean to like that post but looks a bit awkward in the back end there. With all that work going into it you'd think they would have put the outboards in wells and left the transom. With that big cabin layout obviously a cruiser no doubt but transom and wells would have finished her off nicely. Just my opinion though I hoped it all worked out. Curious about the numbers as well.
I think I puked a little in my mouth.
did a go fast boat crash into the stern
Yes Steve. A THT member was operating a CC and ran into the back of what was a 38 Wesmac. He it so hard the keel fell off, and the two hulls became fused together
Well its official, ugliest Wesmac ever built (probably the only one too). The fact that someone thought that would be a good idea is mind-blowing...
boat will probably never leave the dock so it really didn't need motors it could of been towed to the travel lift for the winter haul out.
I bet that boat maneuvers well, with the power so far outboard, with out all the gear associated with a typical hull, must be very light and I would bet fast
as a cruiser.
I wonder what they did with all the space inside normally taken up by the engine
and other gear.
to each his own, good luck to the owner
A friend of mine was involved with some of the yard work. Apparently, the owner has a tender that is hauled on deck and sells outboard for a living. No numbers or performance info, sorry.
IMHO, a strange combination.
I'm guessing it's not fast but cruisers aren't usually fast. Probably a huge aft cabin where motor should be. Interesting concept for sure. Way to much work for me to gamble!
Never thought i'd be able to say i've got a bigger keel than a 42 wesmac.
I give the guy credit for having a vision and going through with it but.... surely a small diesel could have been a better option for a cruiser..
On the other hand maybe he's trying to fish some skinny water with it
Just imagine if he sold these instead.........
probably has the engine room stocked with lower units.
seems like allot of boat for just two 300's. shit they are making 39 contenders with quads 350's that weigh allot less than this boat. I understand it's not meant to go fast but shit those little propellers still need to push that boat and get it moving.
Underway, she will be, without any doubt, the most quiet wheelhouse of any Wesmac ever built. That along with being able to steer in reverse are the only pluses I can think of. Very interesting concept. Do you suppose she'll roll more easily without 1000# of iron in her bilge?
There ought to be a law!!!!
Maybe it was built as a lake boat?
hot tub where the engine should of been
