Here is a LONG DETAILED THREAD about rebuilding a 47' Dixon. Is that the same as a 48'?

Either way, Helen L should be able to tell you anything you want to know about the Dixon.

I think I read where Tim said it was a 42 stretched to 47 so I would imagine the beam is narrower than a 48 or 50.
The boat is still Massive !

I think Tim's was a 40 to begin with. She'll turn a tight circle.

I Green Harbor there are 2 Dixon's in the mooring field across Taylor Marine.
One is a blue 42 "Perfect Cs, the other is light green either 48 or 50.
I've been on the 42 "Perfect Cs a handful of times, both in & out of the water.
Boat is massive ! Certainly not going to enter it in any races but 12-14kts all day long, all conditions. I think the last time I was out on it cod fishing last winter we ran 10-12kts as thats probably a better number fuel wise.
I remember being on the 42 at the fuel dock in Green Harbor a few years ago and the green 48 or 50 was coming in and it made the 42 look small.
Believe the green one was new or fairly new then and not fully rigged for commercial fishing.
Saw it on the fuel dock last week , it's rigged now !

"Perfect C's" is one hell of a boat thats for sure... As Ronnie said, it cruises along around 14kts through practically ANYTHING

H&H, pretty sure they would not put a Dixon on their website. The boat is enormous especially for getting out of the narrows.

only thing my Dixon and a newer Dixon have in common is the name. Mines the old novi style mold, built down. Newer ones are Osmond Beal molds purchased from glasspec (?) I believe. I do have some time on the 58' Dixon, but it was twin screw and a bad example. Id give anything for the new 45'....someday
