6068sfm50 300hp cruise rpms

Finally getting out on the water after a few surgeries and getting my prop repitched. What’s a good cruise rpms?
before I was running at 1800 just so I can keep it from getting overload alarms. Now I can hit 2620 wide open at 97% load
Ran it yesterday at 2000-2100 rpms stays right below 60% load and was cruising 13kts
Temp stays solid at 188-190 at those rpms. I plan to Barnacle buster the coolers In a few weeks when I replace zincs tubes look clean.

You won’t hurt it at 190 degrees. Won’t alarm until 220

Best to watch your load percentage , rpm, speed and fuel burn to figure out a good cruise rpm. Some times the engine and boat will let you know just by the sound and vibrations. My 430 Cummins turns 2600, but I run it at 2000, sometimes 2200 if Im in a hurry. 2000 is the smoothest, the turbo is just starting to whistle.

At 2000-2100rpms it’s @ 50-50% load and 13 knots at 8gph and sounds great
