are we talking bell housing for the engine, the bell housing flange for the transmission or the coupling that goes on the flywheel for the transmission?

all go by adapterplate at some time in their cycle

I've got a couple of them laying around, not sure how to identify the SAE#.
Would like to sell, help me ID them and I'll make you a deal.
Would be easier/cheaper to ship to a business address, maybe your boatyard or marina would accept it for you.

The plates I have are for a B series Cummins, sounds like you've got a C.

Seaboard Marine sells used Cummins parts at reasonable prices.
They are on the west coast, but shipping is about the same as local.
Google them for the number, and while there check out the site, especially the " tips" section.

OK this is the best I can come up with now without pictures.

The plate that Im looking for is..The plate that bolts to the gearbox, will have ZF cast into it.I believe it is made from aluminum. This plate will then allow you to bolt the gear onto the bellhousing. All SAE # 3. I can supply a picture of one made by twin disc, but it wont be today.
If there is another name for this plate then I apologize for the misunderstanding. This is the only thing I need to finish off my engine and drop it in the boat.Someone...Anyone!...please help me out with this.

Thats a pretty extreme way of raising funds, you must REALLY like your boat!

Well Im not a member of the lucky sperm club.Ive done this project out of my pocket. The bank does not have any shares in my boat.Just trying to keep costs down.Sometimes its nice to get a little kiss when you have to bend over. There is no love when it comes to fixing up old boats, just alot of wood.
