What thru-hull transducer would be good for furuno fcv585 on a 32 Mitchell cove. It already has a 1 inch hole were the sitex transducer is. I will be only fishing in about 100 ft of water 90% of the time mostly dragging a small net. I think I would like to see more wider of beam looking for hangs. Anybody have any insight or should I call aimar and tell them what I am doing. Thanks for help.

I had a phone conversation with semperfifish from thehulltruth last week about the same topic and he suggested a B60 which is a 45 degree @ 50khz
12 degrees @200khz, though it's only a 600watt transducer compared to a 1k which will be a more detailed image

.AIRMAR Electronic Catalog

I have a B260 now and is awesome in deep water (bottom/ground fishing) not so much in shallow (striper/blue fish)
I'm thinking I'm going to add the B60 also and run on or the other depending my depth and what I'm fishing for.

He also explained that enabling the target depth is a way of running 200khz & 50khz at the same time without using split screen.

Also for the 1 inch previous hole just hot glue a wooden block inside or outside so you have something to start the pilot hole for the larger holesaw size, then pop off wood block easy enough.

For what its worth i was at the Atlantic City boat show asking the hot shoes of electronics the same question for the same unit 585 . In shallow water ( up to 700 ft .) the 600 w will provide more coverage in sonar ability . The deeper the water is where the 1 kw excells as the deeper the water the wider the coverage for the 1 kw . So i asked about sensitivity for the two transducers and got two different answeres . One guy told me that the 1 kw was about 40 percent more sensitive than the 600 w . Two other salesmen told me that was hog wash . Three different companies two different ans. There are different types of 600 w transducers and both told me if you buy the top shelf transducer that sensitivity would not be an issue ( fairing style not puck ) but my dumb ass never thought to get model # because i knew i wouldnt be buying anything till Uncle Sam gives me back my fucking money he stole from me last year . Good idea always a pain in the ass trying to get a holesaw started with a 3/8 bit in a 1" hole.
